Scientific Conference “The Common Good: Values and Meanings Around Which the Reconstruction of Ukraine Is Possible”
A gathering of scholars, philosophers, theologians, and sociologists—both established and emerging—to explore a fundamental question: What values can unite a society shaped by the pain and diverse experiences of war?
Youth Forum “The Future of Ukraine We Want to Build”
The flagship event of the project.
Eighty young participants from 16 towns and villages come together to speak—and to be heard. The forum takes place in two stages: at the beginning of the programme and again at its conclusion, allowing participants to reflect on how their ideas, perspectives, and personal journeys have evolved.
School of Social Cohesion
A training programme for young people who want to learn how to build dialogue—not to win arguments, but to discover common ground.
Participants receive practical training in dialogue facilitation, moderation, and trauma-informed communication through online webinars and an in-person intensive programme.
Community Dialogues
Graduates of the School of Social Cohesion return to their own communities and begin putting their new skills into practice.
Across Ukraine, they organise:
- 24 moderated discussions on reconstruction and shared values;
- 18 facilitated dialogues titled “The City I Want to Live In”;
- 12 inter-Orthodox dialogues between members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU).
These are not conferences or lectures. They are genuine conversations between people who live side by side and are willing to discuss the issues that matter most.
School of Journalism and Media Production
Participants do more than discuss the future—they tell its story.
As part of the School of Journalism, they produce:
- 10 short documentary videos, “Rebuilding Ukraine: Priorities, Directions, and Challenges”;
- 6 analytical articles;
- creative and multimedia projects presented at the final exhibition.
Regional Forums and the Final Forum in Kyiv
Four regional forums and a concluding event in Kyiv provide an opportunity for teams to present their community projects and share the results of seven months of work.
Rather than a competition, these events celebrate ideas that have grown through collaboration, dialogue, and commitment.
Two Final Publications
The project’s final outcome is not merely a donor report—it is a contribution to Ukrainian society.
“Ideas for the Common Good of Ukraine” presents young people’s vision of the values and priorities that should guide the country’s reconstruction.
“Ideas for a Unifying Metanarrative of Ukrainian Orthodoxy” offers reflections intended both for religious communities and for the wider public.
